In Neon Blue, text reads Closer To Heaven (with the O replaced by a heart in sparkles).
Closer To Heaven at the Turbine Theatre

Closer To Heaven, the musical by Jonathan Harvey and the Pet Shop Boys, is set to be revived at the Turbine Theatre this May. Full casting has now been released.

Leading the cast will be Musical Theatre legend, Tony Award Winner and original London Eponine in Les Miserables, France’s Ruffelle in the role of Billie Trix. Starring alongside Rufelle will be Courtney Bowman (who recently won a WhatsOnStage Award for Best Performer as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde) who will be playing Shell Christian, and Bat Out Of Hell star Glenn Adamson as Dave.

Joining them will be Lewis Brown (Queenz) as Flynn, Connor Carson (The Phantom of the Opera) as Lee, Kurt Kansley (Rent) as Vic Christian, David Muscat (Billy Elliot) as Bob Saunders with Beth Curnock, Cian Hughes, and Jamie Tait as Babes. The cast was put together by Will Burton.

The Pet Shop Boys musical, directed by Simon Hardwick and choreographed by Christopher Tendai, follows Vic (owner of a successful gay club) as his estranged daughter walks through the door ready to rekindle their relationship. Shell is in the middle of a love triangle with Lee and musician Dave, who is also on his rise to stardom. But with drug, sex, and rock and roll in the mix, Closer To Heaven is one hellish cocktail.

Closer To Heaven will open at the Turbine Theatre, which will be transformed into 'Vic's Club', from 31st May.
