Your Lie In April

First seen in the West End as a concert staging earlier this year, Your Lie in April announced today that it is to be staged in full at the Harold Pinter Theatre this summer.

The 2011 manga has been adapted into a musical by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll and Hyde, Bonnie and Clyde), with lyrics by Carly Robyn Green and Tracy Miller, and a book by Rinne B Groff based on the original Japanese book by Riko Sakaguchi.

It tells the story of piano virtuoso Kousei Arima who struggles to find his musical ear following the death of his mother. When he begins a new friendship with a violinist named Kaori Miyazono, his quiet life becomes a whole new symphony.

Wildhorn said: “Your Lie In April is a love letter to the beautiful power of music – to heal, to take us through life’s adventures, to create our most precious memories… I’ve never had more fun than creating this music!”

With cast and further creatives yet to be announced, Your Lie in April opens at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 28th June for a 12-week run.
