The Duchess (Of Malfi) is set to return to London's West End this Autumn with Dr Who and Broadchurch star Jodie Whittaker taking on the title role.
Joining Whittaker will be Joel Fry as Antonio, Rory Fleck Byrne as Ferdinand, Jude Owusu (Kiss Me Kate) as Bosola, Elizabeth Ayodele (Standing at the Sky's Edge) as Julia, Hubert Burton (Noises Off) as Delio, Matti Houghton (Macbeth) as Carla, with Hannah Visocchi, Kerill Kelly, Greg Snowden, and Amy Vicary-Smith. Additional casting is yet to be announced.
The Duchess (Of Malfi) sees Whittaker's first return to the West End stage in over a decade, where she was last seen alongside previous Dr Who incarnate Christoper Ecclestone in Antigone at the National Theatre.
The play is adapted and directed by Zinnie Harris who previously staged the production in 2019 at Edinburgh's Lyceum Theatre. Her production tells the story of a widow who, when moving on with her life with a second husband, becomes haunted by the ghosts of her past.
The Duchess (of Malfi) will run at London's Tralafgar Theatre from October 5th. Tickets are available here.
