Netflix’s Eurovision film is set for the stage!

The Netflix film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is currently in the works to be developed into a stage musical.
The production will feature a book by Will Ferrell (who starred in the film), Harper Steele and Anthony King, with music by Savan Kotecha. It will be directed by Alex Timbers, who directed Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
The 2020 film starred Ferrell and Rached McAdams as Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, who are chosen to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest. The movie also starred Pierce Brosnan, Dan Stevens and Demi Lovato. The film's original song “Husavik (My Hometown)” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Will Ferrell has said in a statement: “We are more than excited to bring Eurovision to Broadway. The stage musical is a perfect place to continue our celebration of all the things we love about this amazing and unifying song competition.”
The musical is being produced by Lia Vollack. and further details, including casting and timeline are yet to be announced.
