The Royal Shakespeare Company, along with composer Joe Hisashi, have announced the upcoming transfer of 2022 hit My Neighbour Totoro to the Gillian Lynne Theatre early next year.

Based on the Studio Ghibli movie of the same name, My Neighbour Totoro is an enchanting coming-of-age story exploring the magical fantasy world of childhood and the transformative power of imagination, as it follows one extraordinary summer in the lives of sisters Satsuki and Mei.

Originally playing a sold-out run at the Barbican in 2022, My Neighbour Totoro broke box office records for the most tickets sold in a single day after it was first announced. The initial run won six Olivier Awards, including Best Entertainment or Comedy Play. Due to its popularity, the show returned to the Barbican for another sold-out run in 2023.

My Neighbour Totoro will run at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 8th March to 2nd November 2025. Booking opens on Friday 3rd May.
