Marvel Star Brie Larson to play Elektra in West End Debut

Elektra starring Brie Larson to run in 2025.

Captain Marvel, and Oscar Winner, Brie Larson is set to make her West End debut in the early part of next year starring as the titular Elektra.


Set to open at the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End, after a 5 day run at the Theatre Royal Brighton, Sophocles' Elektra (usually titled Electra) becomes the second classic text starring a Marvel star to open at the Duke of York's this season.


The text is to be adapted by Anne Carson and directed by Daniel Fisher, with Heather Basten serving as casting director, Kate Godfrey as voice and dialect coach, Ted Hearne as composer, Jeremy Herbert as set designer, Doey Lüthi as costume designer, Annie-B Parson as choreographer, with Max and Ben Ringham working on sound design and Adam Silverman on light design. Further casting is yet to be announced.


On starring in Elektra, Larson said: "I couldn’t be more excited to perform in this Greek drama, or in better company collaborating with Daniel Fish and Anne Carson. Storytelling has always been the way I organize life, feelings and experiences. I look forward to sharing space with the wonderful West End audience while we explore this timeless story."


Elektra opens at the Duke of York Theatre on 24th January 2025, set to run until 12th April 2025. Tickets go on sale from 2nd October.
