Stacey Dooley and James Buckley set to star in 2:22

After previously announcing its sixth run in London's West End, 2:22 - which is set to open this summer at the Gielgud Theatre following the early departure of Opening Night - has now revealed its initial casting.

Starring in the production in the roles of Jenny and Ben, respectively, will be Stacey Dooley and James Buckley. Buckley will be returning to the role which he played in the show's previous run in 2021 alongside Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto) and Giovanna Fletcher, who then starred as Jenny. This marks Dooley's professional stage debut.

Stacey Dooley, famed for her hard-hitting and touching documentary work, said "Delighted to be involved in the next adaptation of 2:22! Made up! I fell for the play when I went to watch it in 2022. All 4 characters feel so familiar, which means the subtle ‘ghost story’ just works so brilliantly. Can’t wait to bring Jenny back to life! Let’s go!"

2:22 are no stranger to stunt casting the role of Jenny, with Dooley joining the likes of Cheryl, Frankie Bridge, Laura Whitmore, and Lily Allen (who was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance.) Other stars who have tread the haunted boards include Tom Felton, Jay McGuiness, and Matt Willis.

On returning, Buckley said: "I’m so excited to be rejoining the cast of 2.22. It’s such a brilliant play and to be back in such a brilliant theatre. It will be great to play Ben again and now all I need to do is make sure I remember the lines. Can’t wait to see everyone there."

The play, which tells the story of Jenny who is being haunted every night at 2:22 am, has played in 5 West End theatres since its first opening in 2021, as well as around the UK and internationally, having been seen by over 60,000 people.

2:22 returns to the Gielgud Theatre on the 25th May. For more information on its return, you can head here. For tickets, head straight to the 2:22 website.
