As the summer comes to an end and the darker nights begin to roll in, there's no better way to spend a cooler evening than in the comfort of a red velvet chair, programme on your lap, excited for the curtain to rise on what could be your latest obsession. In September we have six exciting new shows opening in London's West End.
The Rocky Horror Show - Dominion Theatre, 6th September
In the midst of a UK tour, The Rocky Horror Show is landing in London's West End for a very limited run of only three weeks. Written by Richard O'Brien (who also starred in the 1975 movie adaptation), The Rocky Horror Show tells the story of All-American couple Brad and Janet who stumble upon Dr Frank'n'Furter's castle after their car breaks down. What ensues is an evening of hilarity, science fiction, and more pelvic thrusting than you can imagine.
Tickets for The Rocky Horror Show are available here.

I Wish You Well: The Gwyneth Paltrow Ski-Trial Musical - Criterion Theatre, 11th September
Joining the realms of shows like Kathy and Stella, Six, and The Choir of Man, as another show that began its life as a fringe I Wish You Well is set to open this month at London's Criterion Theatre. This hilarious parody musical tells the (mostly) true story of the real life ski trial of Paltrow v. Turner, packed with laugh-out-loud songs and the campest cast to (ski)boot.
Diana Vickers, of X Factor fame, is Gwyneth Paltrow in this rib-tickling new musical playing until 12th October. Tickets available here.
Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist - The Other Palace, 13th September
Reprising their roles from the 2023 Lyric Theatre production of Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist will be Zizi Strallen in the role of Marie Antoinette and Renée Lamb as Jeanne. This new musical, stroke concert, stroke ballet retells the story of Antoinette's reign in 18th Century Paris and how her implication in a crime to defraud the crown puts not just her reputation at stake, but the monarchy and France itself.
Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist runs at The Other Palace until 10th November. Tickets are available here.

Waiting for Godot - Theatre Royal Haymarket, 13th September
Lucian Msamati, Ben Whishaw, Tom Edden, and Jonathan Slinger star in this all-star production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece play Waiting for Godot. The play follows the story of Didi and Gogo who wait, impatiently, by a tree for the arrival of the ambiguous 'Godot'; exploring themes of timelessness and what it means to be human.
Waiting for Godott is a staple in the British Theatre canon and we're very excited to have it back on the West End stage later this month. Tickets can be found here.
Juno and the Paycock - Gielgud Theatre, 21st September
Tony Award Nominee J. Smith-Cameron and Olivier Award Winner Mark Rylance star in this exciting new production of Juno and the Paycock.
Set in 1922 Dublin, with the civil war tearing the country part, Juno and husband Jack struggle to keep their family afloat in this sharp-witted, dark humoured play "that reflects on a mother’s resilience in the midst of life’s most trying moments."
Tickets for Juno and the Paycock are available here.
The Lehman Trilogy - Gillian Lynne Theatre, 24th September
The Tony Award Winning Best New Play returns back to the Gillian Lynne Theatre this September. It follows the true story of the Lehman Brothers, a firm set up by three Bavarian brothers who arrive in New York to build a better life, and the financial crash of 2008. The production, directed by Award Winner Sam Mendes (Skyfall, The Motive and the Cue) is a sweeping story of a family spanning generations and a company that changed the world.
The Lehman Trilogy is playing until 5th January with tickets are available here.
